Teeth Whitening

TEETH WHITENING SPECIALISTS

Tooth discolouration is a common issue that affects people from all walks of life. It involves teeth losing their natural shade of white, becoming darker or even changing colour completely. Tooth discolouration also covers any dark patches that develop on teeth too.

WHAT FACTORS CAUSE TOOTH DISCOLOURATION?

  • Staining (tea, coffee, red wine, tobacco etc)
  • Aging
  • Genetic Abnormalities
  • Hereditary Conditions
  • Drug Administration

The correct diagnosis for the cause of discolouration is vital as tooth whitening will only be effective at treating some of the before mentioned factors.

At Cranmore our highly skilled and experienced dental team are qualified to understand the causes of tooth discolouration. Consequently, we are able to make the correct diagnosis in order to provide the appropriate treatment and achieve the optimum results.

WHO IS LEGALLY PERMITTED TO PROVIDE TOOTH WHITENING?

The General Dental Council (GDC) regards tooth whitening as the practice of dentistry and only GDC registrants i.e. dentists, hygienists and dental therapists are allowed to provide this treatment to ensure patients receive the best and safest treatment.

Anyone else offering teeth whitening (e.g. beauticians, hairdressers and salon staff):

  • Won’t have the requisite training and knowledge
  • Could permanently damage your teeth and gums
  • Can’t help you when something goes wrong; and
  • Are not regulated by the General Dental Council

WHAT KIND OF TEETH WHITENING SERVICES DO WE OFFER?

TO ZOOM IN SURGERY WHITENING

1-hour Zoom power whitening can whiten teeth by up to several shades, brightening your teeth dramatically to its natural shade. Best results are achieved in one appointment with four fifteen minute in-chair applications.

A special light is positioned over your teeth to activate the gel, which gently penetrates your teeth, breaking up stains and discolouration. This will provide brighter teeth in less than an hour!

We recommend boosting and maintaining the result with our home whitening kit which is included in the price.

HOME WHITENING

A custom made mouth tray is created and a whitening gel is placed in the tray, which you then wear while you sleep or for short periods during the day.

Results are normally seen over 2 weeks.
